What are DTCs?
When the vehicle on-board computer recognizes and identifies a problem, a DTC or Diagnostic Trouble Code for that fault is stored in its memory. These codes are intended to help you determine the root cause of a problem. OBD II Diagnostic Trouble Codes consist of a five-digit alphanumeric code.
